OVERTONE is a trio specializing in the performance of early music on period instruments. Overtone made its debut in 2015 during a concert as part of the Fringe series at the Baroque Vantaa Festival in Finland. A year later, the ensemble was selected to participate in Fringe at the prestigious Festival of Early Music in Utrecht. The trio performed at the Kromer Festival in Biecz, broadcasting their performances for TVP Kultura. They also appeared at the Bach Festival in Świdnica, the Gliwice Bach Festival, Wratislavia Cantans, the Festival ‚Barok na Spiszu’, and in Romania at the Festivalul Baroc Timișoara, among many other important Polish music centers, including the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and the National Forum of Music.
Overtone’s repertoire is distinguished by a particular interest in French music from the 17th and 18th centuries and its commitment to the characteristics of this style. The trio expands its lineup with recorders and traverso flute, collaborating permanently with the Czech instrumentalist Michaela Koudelková. The ensemble also performs vocal-instrumental music (cantatas, airs de cour), inviting acclaimed soloists to join, such as Maciej Gocman (tenor), Claire Lefilliâtre, Anna Zawisza, and Ingrida Gapová (sopranos).
In 2023, Overtone carried out a month-long artistic residency in France as part of the Odyssée project (Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie), supported by the French Ministry of Culture. During this period, they created a music and dance performance with the group Varsavia Galante.

OVERTONE to trio specjalizujące się w wykonawstwie muzyki dawnej na instrumentach historycznych. Debiut Overtone miał miejsce w 2015 roku podczas koncertu z cyklu Fringe na Baroque Vantaa Festival w Finlandii. Rok później zespół został wybrany do wzięcia udziału we Fringe’u podczas prestiżowego Festiwalu Muzyki Dawnej w Utrechcie. Trio koncertowało na Kromer Festival Biecz, transmitując swoje występy dla TVP Kultura, a także na Festiwalu Bachowskim w Świdnicy, Gliwickim Festiwalu Bachowskim, Wratislavia Cantans, Barok na Spiszu oraz w Rumunii podczas Festivalul Baroc Timișoara oraz wielu ważnych, polskich ośrodkach muzycznych m.in. w siedzibie Narodowej Orkiestry Symfonicznej Polskiego Radia w Katowicach i w Narodowym Forum Muzyki.
Overtone wyróżnia się szczególnym zainteresowaniem muzyką francuską XVII i XVIII wieku i dbałością o charakterystykę tego stylu. Trio powiększa swój skład o flety podłużne i traverso, współpracując na stałe z czeską instrumentalistką Michaelą Koudelkovą. Zespół wykonuje również muzykę wokalno-instrumentalną (kantaty, airs de cour), zapraszając do składu cenionych solistów: Macieja Gocmana (tenor), Claire Lefilliâtre, Annę Zawiszę i Ingridę Gapovą (soprany).
W 2023 roku Overtone zrealizował miesięczną rezydencję artystyczną we Francji w ramach projektu Odyssée (Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie) wspieranej przez francuskie Ministerstwo Kultury, podczas której stworzył performance muzyczno-taneczny z grupą Varsavia Galante.
