Julia Karpeta – viola da gamba
Artystka gra na violi basowej, sopranowej oraz violone. W 2019 ukazała się jej solowa płyta z utworami Marina Marais i Antoine’a Forqueray. Wzięła udział w nagraniach kilkudziesięciu płyt m.in. kolekcji dzieł kompozytorów polskich z Wrocław Baroque Ensemble; ponadto wraz z Arte dei Suonatori i Le Poème Harmonique nagrywała dla telewizji Mezzo, a w duecie gambowym Fernabucco dla Polskiego Radia Dwójka. Jako solistka i kameralistka występuje w kraju i za granicą (Niemcy, Włochy, Chorwacja, Litwa, Czechy, Hiszpania, Finlandia, Dania). Brała udział w licznych festiwalach muzyki dawnej, takich jak Actus Humanus, Wielkanocny Festiwal Ludwiga van Beethovena, Misteria Paschalia, BRQ Vantaa Festival, Festival International de Santander, MITO SettembreMusica, Pieśń Naszych Korzeni, Międzynarodowy Festiwal Bachowski w Świdnicy oraz Międzynarodowy Festiwal Wratislavia Cantans.
Absolwentka klasy violi da gamba w PSM II stopnia we Wrocławiu, gdzie kształciła się pod okiem Petra Wagnera. Swój warsztat doskonaliła również na Uniwersytecie Karoliny Północnej w Chapel Hill w klasie Brenta Wissicka, w Hochschule für Musik und Tanz w Kolonii u Rainera Zipperlinga oraz na Akademii Muzycznej we Wrocławiu w klasie Marka Caudle’a, a także na kursach mistrzowskich u Paolo Pandolfo, Wielanda Kuijkena i Lucasa Peresa. W 2011 roku została laureatką programu Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego „Młoda Polska”. Współtworzy trio Overtone specjalizujące się w wykonawstwie muzyki XVII i XVIII wieku. Zespół w 2023 roku odbywa miesięczną rezydencję artystyczną w Thiré, we Francji, w ramach projektu Odyssée (Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie).

Artist plays soprano viol, bass viol and violone in G. In 2019 CD Accord has released her solo album with Marin Marais and Antoine Forqueray music. Her cooperations with other musicians include a bulk of CD recordings f.ex. albums with pieces by Polish composers with Wrocław Baroque Ensemble. She recorded for MEZZO TV playing with ensembles Arte dei Suonatori and Le Poème Harmonique and for Polish Radio 2 in gamba duo Fernabucco. As a soloist and chamber player she performs in Poland and abroad (Germany, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland and Spain). Julia has participated inseveral early music festivals, among others International Festival Wratislavia Cantans, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, BRQ Vantaa Festival, Actus Humanus, MITTO SettembreMusica, Misteria Paschalia, Intenational Bach Festival in Świdnica, Pieśń Naszych Korzeni and Festival International de Santander.
She graduated from the viola da gamba class of the Secondary Music School in Wrocław, where she studied with Prof. Petr Wagner. She mastered her skills at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, collaborating with Prof. Brent Wissick and next with Rainer Zipperling in Cologne. Julia studied also with the English gambist Mark Caudle. The history of her studies includes also the masterclasses with Paolo Pandolfo, Wieland Kuijken and Lucas Peres. In 2011 she became a fellow of the „Young Poland” – Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. She cocreates the Overtone trio who specialise in the performance of 17th and 18th century music. In 2023, ensemble is carrying out a month-long artistic residency in France as part of the Odyssée project (Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie) supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
